Florencia Pralong

Florencia Pralong began her journey in the world of beauty and fashion at just five years old, and today she’s a celebrated model and actress on the international stage. Known for her timeless style and appreciation for classic fashion, she reflects on the distinct styles she’s encountered around the globe, her love for London’s elegance, and her advice for those daring to break into the industry

Florencia, you are a remarkable woman who clearly knows how to succeed. I understand you won your first beauty contest at just five years old! You often participate in international beauty competitions. In your experience, how does the perception of fashion vary across different countries?

Each country has its own distinctive style, shaped by its culture, climate, and sometimes even religion. However, I believe the cradle of fashion remains in cities like Paris, London, and Milan. These are the places where the latest trends and the world’s most prestigious fashion shows originate, setting the stage for what eventually spreads worldwide.

As a model and actress, where do you find inspiration for your fashion looks? What advice would you give to aspiring models who want to experiment with fashion but feel hesitant to go beyond the norm? Is there a fashion trend from the past that is making a comeback that you would like to incorporate into your shoots?

I’m especially drawn to classic and formal styles, often taking inspiration from 1960s models. For those aspiring to be models, my advice is straightforward: if it’s truly your passion, pursue it. Fashion has no boundaries, and with social media and the internet, there’s vast potential to reach an audience. As for trends, fashion always comes full circle, and right now, I’m captivated by metallic clothing, vibrant reds, and long, strapless dresses.

London is considered one of the world’s fashion capitals. In your view, what sets London fashion apart? Which trends do you think reflect London’s culture? If you could capture the essence of London in an outfit or accessory, what would best convey the spirit of this city?

Fashion in London has a refined, classic edge that I find incredibly elegant. The autumn and winter colours and styles, so suited to the climate, have a timeless quality. To encapsulate the spirit of London in a look, I would suggest a classic beige or camel trench coat. This quintessential British style is both practical for rainy weather and sophisticated. Paired with a tartan or checked scarf, perhaps a Burberry pattern, it nods to British heritage. A fedora or beret could enhance the authenticity, and black leather ankle boots or brogues would complete the ensemble. London style is all about elegance, practicality, and a sense of history.

What has been your most memorable experience working in London? Do you have a favourite location for shoots or shows? And is there a particular London brand that holds a special place in your heart?

I spent Christmas in London, and what stands out most is the festive atmosphere, with streets adorned in lights, Christmas trees, and the iconic red telephone boxes. It’s a truly magical experience. For photo shoots, I love the Mayfair area, with its glamorous atmosphere and luxury boutiques. Some of my favourite London brands are Burberry, Jimmy Choo, and Mulberry.

In fashion capitals, street style is often as significant as runway fashion. What is your preferred style for everyday life?

For everyday wear, I gravitate towards a classic and elegant style, often opting for dresses with high heels to enhance my silhouette. My favourite colours are black and red, as they make me feel polished and confident.
