Zuzu, you opened your clinic at the age of 18. What were the biggest challenges you faced at the start of your journey while balancing business and studies? Many young women see you as a role model for success. What advice would you give to those who want to start a business at such a young age?

Opening my clinic at 18 was both exciting and overwhelming. Balancing the demands of running a business while continuing my studies required immense discipline and significant sacrifices. One of the biggest challenges was earning credibility as a young entrepreneur in an industry where experience is highly valued. I had to prove myself through consistent, high-quality work to build trust with my clients. Another challenge was learning to handle criticism and negativity. Putting yourself out there inevitably attracts both support and scepticism, and it takes resilience to remain confident and keep moving forward.

My advice to young women is to believe in your vision and stay focused on your goals. Surround yourself with people who uplift and inspire you, stay open to learning, and don’t let fear or negativity deter you—use it as fuel for your determination. Every challenge is an opportunity to grow, and starting early gives you the advantage of time to refine your journey. Most importantly, know your worth and have confidence in the value you bring. Every great success story begins with a leap of faith.

Every client is treated as a unique canvas, and we take the time to create results that enhance their natural beauty while reflecting their personality. My approach combines technical precision with an artistic vision, ensuring every enhancement is refined, balanced, and tailored to each individual. We don’t aim to change who someone is but to help them feel like the most confident version of themselves.

Many people question my beauty, but I credit my parents for my natural features. Confidence and self-love have allowed me to embrace my natural beauty, freeing me from the need for unnecessary treatments. Personally, I believe in the philosophy that you are what you eat—this applies not only to nourishing your body but also to nurturing your mind. True beauty is rooted in confidence and self-love. When clients embrace and celebrate their individuality, insecurities diminish, and the need for excessive treatments fades. Enhancements should be tools to help you feel like the best version of yourself while staying true to who you are. Beauty ultimately radiates from within.

How do you think your Arab roots have influenced your work ethic and approach to business? How do the aesthetic preferences of your Middle Eastern clients differ from those of clients in England?

My Arab roots have profoundly shaped my work ethic and values. In our culture, there is a strong emphasis on dedication, ambition, and striving for excellence, which has always motivated me to give my best. I also carry a deep sense of hospitality and pride in making my clients feel valued and cared for, which is a fundamental part of my business approach.

In terms of aesthetic preferences, I’ve observed that my Middle Eastern clients often prefer more defined and glamorous results, with a focus on contouring and enhancements that highlight their features in a bold yet elegant way. On the other hand, clients in England tend to favour a more understated, natural look, with subtle adjustments that enhance rather than transform. Understanding and respecting these preferences allows me to deliver results that resonate with each client’s unique vision of beauty.

Tell us about your Microblading training academy. What inspired you to start teaching others and create your own training program?

My training academy focuses on Microblading, the craft that initially brought me recognition. My work stood out for its precision, artistry, and ability to create natural yet flawless results, which earned me a reputation for unmatched quality—a standard I continue to uphold. I started the academy to share the techniques and high standards that set my work apart. I wanted to teach aspiring artists how to achieve exceptional results while prioritizing client care, attention to detail, and ethical practices.

Microblading is an art, and I believe in passing on the skills that helped build my career so others can succeed in theirs. Seeing my students excel and take pride in their work is one of the most rewarding aspects of what I do.

What has been the most unexpected or surprising moment in your career so far?

One of the most surprising moments in my career was when my Microblading work gained international attention, attracting clients from around the world to visit my clinic. As my reputation grew, celebrities began recognising my work and seeking my services, which was both humbling and exhilarating. This experience reinforced my belief that passion and dedication have no boundaries, constantly inspiring me to aim for excellence.

Now, clients visit for both my Microblading and aesthetic services. This journey has been a powerful reminder that unwavering passion and commitment can open doors to unexpected opportunities.
