Emilie, allow me to express my admiration – you are a model of style, intelligence, and entrepreneurship, having succeeded in both modelling and business. And you’re a two-time beauty queen. How have the titles of Miss Luxembourg 2020 and Miss World Luxembourg 2021 impacted your career? How has your experience in the modelling industry helped you as the owner of your own fashion brand, Bogère?

Thank you so much for your kind words. My experience in modelling has been incredibly valuable in shaping my fashion brand. Over the years, I’ve gained a deep understanding of fabrics and the intricate process of assembling a team to bring a collection to life. I’ve also learned about the essential roles of everyone involved in creating a cohesive vision. Through numerous photo shoots, I’ve developed a keen sense of marketing—knowing when and where to promote new pieces. For instance, summer collection campaigns are often shot in the winter, months ahead of their public release. Additionally, I’ve built lasting relationships with photographers, models, makeup artists, and other key professionals, whom I call upon as needed to bring my projects to fruition.
Thanks to my title as Miss Luxembourg, I was able to build a large community on social media, which helped me establish my name in the fashion industry. Being a Luxembourgish brand also sets me apart from the competition. My clients love that they can wear a local brand. In the future, I plan to expand Bogère to other countries, but Luxembourg will always be its birthplace.

How did your love for fashion begin, and what inspired you to create Bogère? What challenges did you face when starting your business, and what was the most unexpected thing on this journey?

From a young age, I was deeply influenced by my mother, who worked in finance and held a prominent position at a bank. Her impeccable style, always dressed to impress, left a lasting impression on me. As a teenager, I began borrowing her clothes, and it was during this time that my passion for fashion truly blossomed. When I ventured into modelling, I gained a deeper appreciation for fashion as an art form, realising that it is not merely about clothing, but a powerful means of self-expression.

Can you tell us how your style reflects your personality and the values of the Bogère brand? What aspects of femininity and glamour do you aim to convey through the pieces in your store?

My vision is for women to feel empowered and authentic in my designs, embodying their best selves with confidence and ease. Through each piece, I strive to blend simplicity with elegance, ensuring both comfort and sophistication. I am committed to offering high-quality clothing at a fair price, making it accessible to all, including the younger generation who looked up to me during my time as Miss Luxembourg. This ethos was integral to building my brand, ensuring that style and excellence are within reach for everyone.

The fashion business is often considered challenging and competitive. How do you manage to maintain your individuality and stand out among other brands?

Being a Luxembourgish brand sets me apart from the competition. My clients appreciate that they can support a local brand, and my background in modelling has allowed me to build strong connections and a distinct approach to marketing. I’ve also developed lasting relationships with key professionals who help bring my creative visions to life. This combination of authenticity, local identity, and thoughtful collaboration helps me maintain individuality in a competitive industry.

It is known that you love horses. How does this passion influence your lifestyle and style? Is there anything in your brand that reflects this hobby?

Horse riding offers me a sense of tranquillity and serves as a source of inspiration. I cherish long walks with my horse through nature, relishing the ever-changing hues of the seasons. The elegance and comfort inherent in equestrian apparel deeply resonate with me, and it is this blend of style and functionality that I aim to embody in my own designs.
